“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” – Philippians 4:13
Hello to Sage Students, Teachers and Families! My name is Maisie Rathburn and I was blessed to be a student at Sage from 2nd – 5th grade. I am now 16 years old and a rising junior in Phladelphia. Sage teachers, love of Jesus and their way of teaching really helped me grow into the student I am today. When I left Sage, we moved to Idaho for my Dad’s job and although it was in a nice, Christian school – the teaching was very different and I missed Sage but I made friends and did well in my classes.
2 years later during COVD we moved to Phladelphia and I started 7th grade at a school for students with language based learning differences, AIM Academy. It was hard adjusting to online school (bc of COVID) and making friends but I persevered! I feel balanced and adjusted entering 11th grade and excited to begin the college process. My favorite part about school is being able to play sports…and learning, of course :-). I have been on the soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams since 7th grade. Our soccer team made school history this year by winning the PJAA Championship for the first time ever…and we only have about 40 students per grade. My lacrosse team also went to the championship this year, another school first ever! Last summer, I was a Counselor in Training at the AIM summer camp and this summer I am a Camp Counselor. I love the campers and hope to give back the same way that the Sage teachers gave to me when I was in elementary school. I have also been a member of National Charity League, Valley Forge and enjoy having leadership roles and volunteering with Special Olympics, local food shelters and environmental centers. This year I won the PVSA award for volunteering.
It was scary to turn the page into the next chapter of my life after Sage School. Now that I am in it, I am forever thankful that Sage gave me the tools to do great things in the future. Thank you to Sage for a great start and teaching me to never give up on anything…Sage provided me with a love of learning with a Christian foundation. I continue to be a fearless learner at AIM and thank God every day for placing me at Sage during the most important, developmental years of my childhood. Never stop learning and never give up!

A Sage education has truly been life changing for our family and Allie. Learning how to advocate for herself as we moved on from Sage and having the belief that she can do things has been everything. She truly does not see dyslexia as a deficiency but as a gift. She knows that she can solve problems in a unique and creative way that has served her well over the years. We are excited to see what the future holds as she is entering highschool next year and is thriving.

“It’s hard to describe the feeling we got when we visited Sage. It was like we had found hope. Angela and all of the teachers were so loving and selfless. They truly were there to help my child, and all the kids at Sage. They made all the kids feel ‘normal’ and safe.
Sage taught her it was ok to fail, because through failure, we learn and grow. And there’s no shame in that. Because of all of the wonderful teachers at Sage, she is now a very confident girl who is not afraid to try new things.”

“Over the three years he was at Sage, Ryan learned the skills to succeed and gained confidence in himself. The teachers at Sage not only help academically but truly understand how a dyslexic child thinks and instill in them the truth, that they are ‘fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image’. I have watched Ryan grow more independent and confident. Thank you Sage for giving him the foundation he needed to succeed academically and spiritually. Sage is truly a blessing!”

She did really well at Sage and in 2 years she decided it was time to go back to traditional school. She rolled perfectly back into a traditional model and excelled. She has maintained honor roll since graduating from Sage without additional tutoring or special treatment from the school.”
